In San Miguel Eskrima, emphasis is heavily placed on developing proper and precise body mechanics and dynamics, and the recognition of the natural physiology and application of movement and force, while using the concepts/principles of a weapons-based training we call ESKRIMA. Power, speed, strength, rhythm, reaction, reflex, and a keen eye are some of the attributes developed as you stay committed to San Miguel Eskrima training. San Miguel Eskrima is a complete blade and edge based system that incorporates long and short blades, single stick, double stick, stick and dagger, dagger, long stick (ananangkil/gahab), spear (bankaw), bullwhip (latigo), cadena (chain), throwing knives, Pangamut (empty hand combat/Combat Judo/dumog wrestling). This system was developed through a long and proven lineage of combat and reality-based situations and encounters through what was then Grandmaster Momoy’s “stable of fighters”. This development was manifested by consistent quality – traits that we will continue to uphold in our training as an honor and tribute to that late Grandmaster. -Magtutudlo Ramon Rubia

Eskrima De Campo Uno-Dos-Tres Orihinal, as taught by Magtutudlo Ramon Rubia, is another system within Eskrima Combatives FMA. This largo mano, or "long range" strategy of eskrima is learned through the syllabus and training methodology as authorized by Nong Manuel "Mawe" Caballero, heir to Eskrima De Campo Uno-Dos-Tres Orihinal, and son of the founder, Jose D. Caballero. Training in Eskrima De Campo 1-2-3 Orihinal is simple, unique, and efficient in movement.
Corto Kurbada is the close-range, single-stick method of eskrima that is in constant development and refinement by Doce Pares Club Grandmaster Ciriaco "Cacoy" Cañete. Corto Kurbada is the combination of Corto Orihinal, or short-range linear strikes, and various angles of thrusting, butt strikes, hooking, etc., with circular and curving strikes involving the supination or pronation of the wrist. These various types of single-stick strikes are paired with the "alive," or left hand, to parry and check their opponent in order to deliver devastating locks, quick disarms, and throws to the opponent. Corto Kurbada is a unique method which contains a high degree of variability in what the practitioner can do with a single stick.
